Dear Peter,
Not all of us believe that Palisades Drive is dangerous.
It’s a beautiful, wide, and over-patrolled stretch of road. It’s also a long commute for those of us who live up here. Making it longer, putting more distractions along it, and encouraging road nannies will only ruin this beautiful drive.
It’s always sad when a kid drives on the wrong side of the road and kills himself or bikes over a pedestrian. However, this is a problem parents need to take control of, rather than pointing fingers at their neighbors. Suicide by car is still suicide.
Highlander,
I find it disturbing when trolls show up on sensitive discussions, like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll) .
Anonymous sniping dilutes your points, however valid.
There were no teenagers involved when Debra Goldsmith was run over by a mom in an SUV. There were no bike-lanes or sidewalks where Judith Arend was hit by a bicycle. Both Ms. Arend and the rider were trying to avoid automobiles.
Your bias towards the automobile is ridiculous.
Human life is pre-eminent.
How many more memorials do you think it will take to “ruin your view”.
Anonymous posts like this are cowardice, you are a troll.
